When people talk about Greece, they will first think of its splendid culture, such as Greek mythology and Greek sculpture, Socrates, Plato, Archimedes and Euclid. In fact, Greece is also a gorgeous country which is famous for tourist with its natural splendid landscape, but they do not only have the Aegean Sea, they have quite a lot attractive sceneries.
Now I want to introduce a beautiful city which is the modern Greece’s first capital, Nafplion. It is located in the east of Peloponnese, which is 140 kilometers far from Athens; the Nafplion is an old city which has a splendid river bank, so many winding streets and numbers of old historic buildings in the streets are scattering around in some arrangement.
The old buildings in this city are mostly been built in the Italian style, because in the period of 1388~1538 and 1685~1715, the city was under the control of the Venice, the castles which are known as the cityrsquo;s marks are respectively located in the mountains and the sea were built by the Venetian. I love the architectural style because it is massive and has a strong religious atmosphere.
Now, the ancient town which was built by the sea has plenty of outdoor bars, and in the streets, there are all kinds of shops, restaurants and cafes scattering around, and this is the place where the local people mostly like to visit.
Unless it is weekend, there has few tourists, and most of the stores are closed, thus the town is very quiet. It is just quite enough to let me forget that it is a tourist attraction.
